CYA: The Judge & The ChronoGuard & The Darter & Juliet

"dat, what are you doing?!" the judge was outraged as he dropped to his knee to check for a pulse.

the darter looked slightly embarrassed. "i'm sorry. we're here to stop him and...it's just instinct. that's how i stop people."

"i can't believe you actually hit him," juliet said, almost admirably.

"but it's not him, you idiot. this is ChronoGuard Ben Franklin, not our ben franklin," the judge explained.

"another ben franklin?"

"no, the same ben franklin, but...it's complicated." he lay mr. franklin's hand down. "he's alive."

"of course he's alive!" the darter retorted. "i don't kill people. he'll just be out for a few hours, that's all."

"i guess we'd better go back," the judge declared as he lifted ChronoGuard Ben onto his back. "how'd you get here again?"

"the sonic transducer from the rocky horror picture show," juliet reminded him.

"really? that worked?"

"hey, is it any more miraculous than dat hitting somebody?"

"hey!"

"good point."
