yep, koolickles. what are they? dill pickles soaked in cherry kool-aid. i found the item & recipe in alton brown's Feasting on Asphalt: The River Run, which i picked up for about $3. i had never heard of these things, but apparently they're popular in the delta region. alton was skeptical, but admitted that it worked: still tart & crisp & vinegar-y, but sweet, too, and hits the spot on a hot afternoon. he's right. these really aren't bad! they're a hit with the boys, too. i'm thinking of doing pickles for 2011...stay tuned!

We did several kinds of pickles this year because we had alot of cucumbers! It was fun. Also did plum jelly !!
SOOOO, you SHOULD do pickles and other canning as well! :o)
Are they frozen ???? or just refrigerated in a jar with koolaid?
