No-Knead Deep Dish Pizza

another recipe from the KAF Baker's Companion. it's easy, no kneading, can be done in one day and, according to the book, "is a favorite for kids." well, it was easy enough, but....man, did it create a thick crust. it was okay, but the kids weren't thrilled with it. since i'm not a big fan of deep-dish pizzas anyway, i doubt i'll be repeating this one again. the KAF book already has two strikes against it.

the pizza crust kinda looks like a doughnut...specifically a glazed doughnut from krispy kreme...

ah, yes. well, at the first pizza joint i ever worked at, we used to have a nice crust around the edge and we would brush it with garlic butter after it came out of the oven. and, after eating the pizza up to the crust, we would often dip the remaining crust in Seven Seas brand Creamy Italian dressing. alas, they no longer make it, and no other creamy italian dressing has that same tartness. but i still brush the garlic butter on the outside of my pizza crusts when they come out of the oven, so good eye on the "glazing" :)
