CYA: Gavin & Foxy Go To Boston 1

there was a hard thud and the whirring noise came to a stop. cardigan & foxy opened their eyes to a small room filled with grey smoke.

"hey, it worked!"

"and nobody is here to see us," foxy added. "i was worried about that."

"let's figure out where we are."

they eased the door open and looked out over a vacant lot. they walked outside and saw that they were in the back of an abandoned warehouse on the banks of a river.

"this way, gavin." foxy lead the way around the side to find a thoroughfare. "good, this is beacon street. the university is upriver to the left. let's go!"

"how do you know where to go?" cardigan asked in surprise.

foxy held up her iPhone. "marian sent every team a text telling us that dr. bell's famous experiment took place at boston university. i did my master's degree in boston, so i know my way around."

cardigan beamed. "can i pick a partner or what!"

she gave him a weak smile. "i just hope the others are safe."

cardigan squeezed her hand. "don't worry. burkie won't let anything horrible happen to them."

they rushed up the street, ignoring the onlookers' gaping at their 21st century clothing. when they reached the campus, they found the science department's location on a directory and slowed their pace, looking around carefully for signs of mr. franklin or their friends.

there were a number of people standing outside the building when they arrived. cardigan asked a man standing near the door, "excuse me, sir. have you seen a man dressed as benjamin franklin?"

the man nodded. "yes, indeed i have! he entered the building not 10 minutes ago. i think that march is a little too soon for all this centennial celebration nonsense but, i must say, he was a very impressive franklin."

"you have no idea," cardigan muttered. "thank you, sir!" they entered the doorway and foxy turned toward the corridor on their right and exclaimed, "ZOMG!"
