Pretzels!

saw these on lori's lipsmacking goodness and thought they looked fun. she made heart shaped-pretzels; i tried that as well as a few other non-traditional shapes (including my signature batman symbol, a longhorn, and a J and a W for the kids). these are similar to the pretzels you'd get at the mall (brushed with melted butter after baking), but they came out a little crisper, but not as crisp as a hard pretzel. they're good, fun, easy, and don't take a lot of time. i'd make 'em again. co-workers, don't worry--i made bagels this morning and will bake some tomorrow morning before work :)
