The greatest English playwright ever known,
His stories will forever be performed.
But when a light on his own tale is shone
We find that we are not too well informed.
He never spelled his name the same way twice,
And seems to have not ever been abroad;
His education just would not suffice,
So some say he's the greatest ever fraud.
Perhaps Sir Francis Bacon was the scribe?
Still others nominate Edward de Vere.
Kit Marlowe had the talent, some subscribe,
Or did the Queen herself compose King Lear?
Poor Yorick's Pub is where the answers hide--
Read on and let these snapshots be your guide!
