The Best Ham Steak with Apple Cider Gravy Recipe

you see that great jambalaya in the the previous post? well, i'm the only one in the house who eats (non-fried) shrimp, so it's all mine!!! but i had to feed the others, too, so a ham steak works great. and i noticed there is a ham steak recipe in the book--with apple cider gravy. so, not much to it, really. brown the ham in a skillet with butter, remove. deglaze with cider, thicken with a mixture of cider, dijon mustard, brown sugar, and corn starch. throw in some thyme, and there you have it. well, they only wanted the ham, not the cider gravy. looks good though, huh? i tried a bit--it's sweet. too sweet, i think. i'm not a fan, either. thumbs down (though mira, the notorious ham ho' might like it!)

well, it was only 1/2 tsp. of brown sugar, but that was too much for me. i'm not a big fan of ham mysself, anyway. i'll stick to the jambalaya :)
